The Sabine Chapter, DAR held its annual business meeting on January 20 at the home of Jennie Ogden. Delegates to the state conference and national convention were elected. Chapter reports were compiled for submission to the state and national societies. The chapter reported in 60 percent of the committees. Some of the highlights of the past year were recognizing a DAR Good Citizen from each of the parish schools, recognizing a graduating senior at each school for outstanding work in American History, continuing support of the Fort Jesup Society Children of the American Revolution, visiting Veterans in the nursing homes twice a year with comfort items, obtaining proclamations for the Native American Heritage month in November, and celebrating Constitution Week.
The chapter had 20 percent of its members reporting in the Service to America committee.
