Betty A. Lucius Marsh passed away at her home in Florien on January 24, 2018. She was born June 29, 1941 to Lud Bryson Lucius and Eula Mae Vogels Lucius. Betty married Norman Marsh of Toro on December 22, 1961. Betty and Norman lived all over the United States from California to Florida until Norman retired from the Air Force in 1976. Betty was happy to move closer to home and loved entertaining her friends and family, hosting countless parties attended by her extended family and good friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with her sister Louise and hunting for artifacts with her nephew Michael. She also enjoyed playing cards with her sisters-in-law, and made many friends playing Bingo. Betty also loved traveling; her favorite destinations included visiting family in Texas, Oregon, and friends in Salt Spring Island, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, Riley Lucius; siblings, Marie Gray, Royce Lucius, Harvey Lucius, Douglas Lucius, and Carolyn Craft; and dear sisters-in-law, Marzelle Krumholz, Rosie Snell, and Dean Kubena. She is survived by her husband, Norman; daughters, Tamara Baxter and husband, Lawrence “Bubba” Baxter, of Marthaville, and Norma Marsh and husband, Craig Morgan, of Baton Rouge; her beloved grandchildren, Emily Baxter, Caleb Baxter, Max Morgan, Anna Morgan, and Alex Morgan; sister, Louise Marsh; many adored nieces and nephews, their extended families; special friend, Betty Burns, and honorary daughter, Pam Dyes. A graveside service will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church in Florien at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27. Pallbearers are Caleb Baxter, Max Morgan, Alex Morgan, Gregory Snell, Aaron Marsh, and Chris Gatti. Honorary Pallbearers are Joey Marsh, Jeffery Snell, Michael Snell, Richard Netz, and Timothy Day. The Marsh family appreciates the kind care received from the Hospice of Leesville nurses. Special thanks to Beverly and Morgan Rogers who provided loving care and support to Norman and Betty.
