Funeral Services for Floyd J. Giblin, 72, of Many will be held January 24 at 1 p.m. at The First United Methodist Church of Many with the Reverends Wilton Anthony and Bo Horne officiating. Burial will follow at the Many Cemetery. Floyd, the oldest of twin boys, was born on Wednesday December 26, 1945, in Baton Rouge, and passed away Friday January 19, 2018, at his home in Many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tolita Simon Giblin; father, Robert Giblin; and uncle, Cleo Simon. Born to hearing impaired parents, Floyd learned his communication skills at a very young age by serving as a bridge between the deaf and hearing world. This became a base of personal connection that has served him throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, running, but most of all, his first love was football. Floyd was a patriot that served his country with convection and pride. With all of this, plus being mentored by Warren Meadows, he became a very compassionate and caring funeral director that loved serving his community with his whole heart. He is survived by his wife, Susan Meadows Giblin of Many; daughter, Amy Giblin Barnhill and husband, Ben, of Many; fur babies, Josie and Lizzie; grandchildren, Hope and Kamryn Barnhill; fur-grandchildren, Sadie, Shelby, and Sophie; brother, Lloyd Giblin and wife, Jon Ann, of Baton Rouge and their children, Shelly, Tracy, and Scott; extended family, members of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Family, Ken Leach, Jennifer LeBaron, Kirk Rogers, Curtis Rogers, Hunter Tarpley, Mike and Brenda Lyddy, Bobbie Harper, Charlene Leone, Eva Montgomery and Lori Brant; Amber Barajas, her son Taylor Barajas, and Reba Lane; Vic and Zona Terro; Pat, Lana, and Kagan Sandel. Pallbearers will be Chris Hills, Chris Loupe, Taylor Barajas, Dean Lambert, Brian Carroll, Ben Tekell, Harold Anderson and Jackie Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Board of Directors and the Vultures. Memorial donations may be made to the Louisiana Association for the Deaf, 3112 Valley Creek C, Baton Rouge, LA., 90808 or the Many Lion’s Club.
