Bobbie Lorene Parker, 77, beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend, passed away July 5, 2017 at her home in Florien. She was a resident of Florien for over 30 years. Bobbie was born August 25, 1939 to the late Fred and Gladys Parker in Leesville. She was raised in Vernon and Sabine Parish. Bobbie is the mother of two daughters, Frieda Marze of Pt. Arthur, Texas, and Virginia Marze of Houston, Texas and one son, Bobby Benson, Jr. of Florien. She leaves behind two brothers, Jerry L. Parker and wife, Melva, of Many and Cullen “Jimmy” Parker and wife, Barbara of Hornbeck. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Glady Hilton Parker and brothers, Jeanie Ray Parker and Freddie Joe Parker. Bobbie worked hard all her life and enjoyed working. She worked in medical records for many years. Upon retirement she decided to return to work at Ft. Polk in Role Play, where she worked until 2016. She was very thrifty, and enjoyed canning and working with her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and had a special gift of decorating from her clothing to make her own curtains. She was a lady with much pride and dignity and was loved by all her coworkers, family and friends. Bobbie fought a valiant and courageous battle with cancer. She is loved and admired by family, nieces, nephews and loved ones. Graveside services were held July 7 at the Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery, with Bro. Wayne Chance officiating.
