Funeral services honoring the life of Ronald Dean Dyes, 71, were held November 11 at Old Pisgah Baptist Church in Marthaville with the Reverendd Dean Johnson and Glenn Howard officiating. Interment followed at Marthaville Cemetery in Marthaville. Ronald was born on December 31, 1944 in Shreveport to JB and Willie Forsong Dyes and passed away on November 7, 2016 in Marthaville. Ronald was a member of Ajax Lodge # 325, he received a past master 25 years certificate. Ronald worked in foreign oil fields in Libya and Saudi Arabia. Ronald’s hobbies were fishing Black Lake, he is the record holder for Black Lake. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and 4-wheeler riding with friends and family in the OK mountains. He was a former Board Member for Farm Bureau of Natchitoches Parish and also member of Natchitoches Parish Cattleman’s Association. Preceding Ronald in death are his parents JB Dyes and Willie Dyes Ott; sister, Marilyn “Peachie” Lewis; and father and mother-in-law, Thurman and Marie Middleton. Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Pam Middleton Dyes of Marthaville; son, Ronald Dean Dyes II of Marthaville; daughters, Carla Clemmens and husband, David, of Haughton, and Christi Dyes of Natchitoches; daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Jami and Roland Dans of Marthaville; grandchildren, Clayton Dyes, Camron Dyes, Gracie Dans, Zachary Dans, and Levi Dans; brother, Jerry Dyes and wife, Jeannie, of Fredericksburg, Texas; nephews, Dr. Johnathan Dyes, Jeremy Dyes, and Robert Lewis; brother-in-law, Robert T. “Bobby” Lewis and wife, Theresa; niece, Dondra Griggs and husband, Paul; a host of Dyes cousins and Forsong cousins, great niece, and nephews; and special friends, Lawrence and Tamara Baxter, Emily Baxter and Caleb Baxter. Those honoring the life of Ronald as pallbearers were Clayton Dyes, Camron Dyes, Lawrence “Bubba” Baxter, Caleb Baxter, Travis Strahan, Roland Dans, Randy Hilliard, and Boyd Hightower. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jack Pace, Mr. Gary Jones, Mr. Alden Kuhn, Mr. Bobby Lewis, Mr. Dale Moore, and Mr. JW “Boney” Powell.
