Danny Ray Risor was born November 5, 1943 in Sabine Parish. He passed away February 28, 2016 in San Francisco, California after a 5-year battle of Parkinson’s disease. He retired from working in accounting of a stock brokerage firm. Before moving to San Francisco in 1965, he worked on a Swedish merchant marine ship and visited 15 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia. He was a member of the San Francisco Orchid Society and enjoyed his orchids. He also enjoyed playing the piano, going to great ethnic restaurants, working in his Japanese garden, and going on walks throughout the city he loved. He is preceded in death by his parents, R.G. and Mattie Risor; sisters, Helen Lane and Edith Allen; brothers, Charlie and Frank Risor and partner of 43 years, Richard Jesse. He enjoyed his Basenji dogs: Zaire, Sudan and Ituri for many years. He is survived by his sister, Ann DeLatin and husband, Terry, of Many; brother, Bob Risor of El Dorado, Arkansas; special cousin, Sharon Malone; good friends, Hugh and Sandy; a sister at heart, Eva Jo Broussard along with a host of many nieces, nephews and friends. Dan and Richard’s ashes were scattered by the Golden Gate Bridge over the Pacific Ocean on March 16 under the direction of Neptune Memorials.
