Funeral services for Stephen Douglas Abington, 57, of Cecilia, were held on April 14 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Joe Martina officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery. Stephen Douglas Abington was born January 17, 1959 in Baton Rouge. He attended Louisiana State University and remained a part of the purple and gold all of his life along with being a proud brother of the Acacia Fraternity. While attending LSU he was a diplomat for the State of Louisiana in dealings with Ecuador South America and started an import export company. Using his entrepreneurial, innovative spirit he became the President (CEO) of E. J. Abbey, Abbey West, OmniVisionLive, YellowPagesLive, and most recently Mai Mai Media. He was a great friend, successful business owner, leader, coach, mentor, brother, and father to his two sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas C. Abington and Mary Mai Abington. Stephen is survived by sons, Samuel Alexander Abington of Tempe, Arizona and Nicolas Douglas Abington of San Mateo, California; sisters, Elizabeth Abington Prejean of Natchitoches and Camille Abington Hansen of League City, Texas; brother, Rodney C. Abington of Many; nephews, Gavin C. Abington of Lafayette and Jake Harrington of Lafayette; mother of his children, Coqui Abington of San Mateo, California; brother and sister-in-law, Sebi Peña and Ruthie Maldonado; nephews, JJ and Luisi Maldonado and Juan Sebastian Peña; niece, Valentina Peña all of Ecuador along with a host of friends.
