Reginald Bryant Longlois, of Many was born on Wednesday, September 29, 1943 in Natchitoches Parish. He passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at his home in Many. He will be cremated and the family will have a private service at a later date. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lynette Childs Longlois; father, Bryant “Bud” Longlois; parents, Doris and R.D. Rushing and grandparents, John and Leta Gentry. Reginald was a veteran who served in the Vietnam War protecting his country. After returning home and being released from the Army he was the first of his family to pursue a college degree. With the help of the GI Bill, Reginald earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from Northwestern State University in three years. He came to Many to work as an insurance agent at Vandegaer Insurance Agency in the early 1970s. He owned several businesses after leaving the insurance business and continued to be a local businessman until he retired in 2000. He and  his wife, Shirley spent several years in their RV exploring the United States with Lambert and Gwen Peterson. He is survived by his daughter, Rennie Longlois Clifton and husband, Cory, of Many; grandchildren, Connor Bryant Clifton of Lafayette. and Shelby Nicole Clifton of Natchitoches; brother, Gerald Longlois and wife, Michelle, of Natchitoches; nieces and nephews, Christi Longlois- Marney of New Orleans, Joseph Longlois of Natchitoches and Abby LaCour of Natchitoches.
