A funeral mass honoring the life of James Denis Mickunas, 77, of Many, was held on Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. Father Timothy Hurd officiated. Interment with full military honors was in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas. James was born on Dec. 11, 1937 in Southview, Pennsylvania. He entered into eternal rest on Aug. 30, 2015 at his residence in Many. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from which he retired after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Susan Slebodnick Mickunas; wife, Catherine Mickunas and brother, Jerome Mickunas. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Michele Ruthemeyer and husband, Timothy of Bowie, Maryland; grandsons, Kevin Ruthemeyer and Kyle Ruthemeyer; sister, Joann Crawford Canton, Ohio; brother, Joseph Mickunas of Akron, Ohio and a host of friends.
