Funeral services for James Franklin Boothe, Sr.,89, of Many, were held on Aug. 8 at the Toledo Bend Church of Christ. Interment followed in the church cemetery. James Tidwell officiated.James was born on Jan. 28, 1926 in Waco, Texas. He entered into eternal rest on Aug. 5, 2015 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.James served his country as a member of the US Coast Guard. He was a devout Christian and an elder of the church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.He was preceded in death by his parents, James Fulton Boothe and Bertha May Short Boothe and a granddaughter Sherry Meadows.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 73 years, Edith Marie Shirley Boothe of Many; daughter, Glory White and husband, Larry, of Many; sons, James F. Boothe, Jr. of Trinity, Texas, and Marvin W. Boothe and wife, Ruth, of Elgin, Oklahoma; grandsons, James F. Boothe III, Larry White, Jr. Jeffrey White, Chad Boothe, and Craig Boothe; granddaughters, Kimberley Mattocks, Jeanine Hunter, and Tiffany Gann; 21 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
