Jeanette “Jan” Broussard Achord passed away on March 19, 2015. Services were held March 21 in Zwolle at. St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with graveside services following March 23 at Resthaven in Baton Rouge. A 35-year resident of Zwolle, Jeanette “Jan” was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she also served at Eucharist Minister. She served in her community as a precinct commissioner, and was active in VFW and KC auxiliaries. She was known to many as an avid bowler and a LSU Tiger fan. She retired from Dow Chemical, Baton Rouge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester J. Achord, Sr.; her father and mother, Zackery E. Broussard and Effie B. Broussard and her brother Alvin Broussard. She is survived by her children, Lester J. Achord, Jr., Terry Achord Nabi, David Randall Achord, Walter Raymond Achord, Richard Achord, Rebeccas Achord Ballein and Michael Dwayne Achord; dearly beloved grandchildren, Lisa Achord Pitts, Lester J. Achord, III, Stephen M. Achord, Lynn Nabi, Sharif Nabi, Regina Achord Breard, Russell Achord, Misty Achord Fuller, Danielle Achord, Dale Achord, Christina Achord Vallejo, Sheri Broussard Moss and Michael “Mikey” Achord; 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Pallbearers for both services were her grandsons.
