Funeral services for Duffie Joe Williams were held on Feb. 15 at the Toledo Bend Baptist Church, in Anacoco with the Reverends Bill Russell and Kenneth Baggs officiating. Burial followed in the Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Duffie Joe Williams was born on Jan. 10, 1939, to JD and Mae Ella Williams in Hornbeck and passed away at the age of 76 in Shreveport on Feb. 12, 2015. He worked for Boise Cascade for 32 years. After retiring, he spent the rest of his best years going to the store to drink coffee with his buddies. He loved to watch things grow and loved messing with horses and mules. He also loved to fish and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Mae Ella Williams; brothers, Floyd, MacArthur, Virgil, Leland Lemand, Williams and two infant siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Carmen Alexander and husband, Scooter, of Hornbeck, Carla Alexander of Hornbeck and Denise O’Quinn, and husband, Tim, of Port Arthur, Texas; sons, Gregory Joe Williams and wife, Sandy, of Florien, Texas, Carlton Wayne Williams of Hornbeck and Floyd Roland Williams of Hemphill, Texas; grandkids, Taylor O’Quinn, Dylan and Kirstie Williams, John Thomas Williams, Kalli Richard, Cori, Chelsi and Carli Alexander, Dre, Lenzie and Brady Alexander; great-grandsons, Bentlee Joesph Alexander and Nathen Alexander; brothers, Lee Raymond Williams and wife, Doris, of Anacoco, Billy Fish Williams of Anacoco, Charlie Williams and wife, Melba, of Anacoco, Dwight Buddy Williams and wife, Paige, of Anacoco and Fred Williams and wife, Earlene, of Hornbeck and sister, Shirley Hamrick of Hornbeck.
