Marnee Dowden Williamson, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was a native of Florien and had been a resident of Lake Charles since 1948, coming from Kisatchie. Marnee was a 55-year member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lake Charles as well as the Red Hat Society. She was the owner and operator of Williamson’s Pecans for many years. She enjoyed quilting, shopping, cooking, and gardening. Survivors include her children, Judge Roy Williamson and wife, Yvonne of Lake Charles, Sandra Price and husband, Tom of Ocean Springs, Miss., Ernest “Ernie” Williamson of Jackson, Miss., and Dennis Williamson and wife, Becky of Moss Bluff; her sister, Mary Laurence of Anacoco; 12 grandchildren, James Roy Williamson, Darren Williamson, Stacey Hampton, Dawn Raybon, Angela Kulo, Shari Belcher, Derek Williamson, Cory Williamson, Josh Williamson, Joe Williamson, Sarah Williamson, and Alyce Tarver; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Griffin Williamson; her parents, Ivy and Fannie Dowden; five siblings; two grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Her funeral was held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles with the Rev. Hugh Wallis and Ryan Tarver officiating. Burial was in Toro Cemetery in Florien.
