Funeral services for Teddy McCloy Ellzey, 72, of Mansfield, were held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, beginning at 10 a.m. at Plainview Baptist Church in Florien, with the Reverends Wayne Chance and Tim Leach officiating. Burial followed in the Toro Cemetery in Florien. Teddy McCloy Ellzey was born on Monday, March 2, 1942 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Willis Knighton South in Shreveport. He was valedictorian of his graduating class of the Lousiana School of the Deaf in Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his  parents, Johnnie and Audra Davis Ellzey; two sisters, Ruby Ivor Ellzey and Alice Ellzey Jones; and eight brothers, Johnny Leon Ellzey, William Myron Ellzey, Jefferson Huey Ellzey, Samuel Elton Ellzey, Elwin Ellzey, Koy Davis Ellzey, Victor Lindell Ellzey and Charles Ned Ellzey. He is survived by his two brothers, Carroll Dean Ellzey and wife, Helen, of Florien and Rube Brice Ellzey and wife, Louise, of Many; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Shane Jones, Imon Jones, Elton Ellzey, Pat Ellzey, Rickey Ellzey, Dean Ellzey, Ken Ellzey, Mike Ellzey, Preston Ellzey, Jason Ellzey and Cody Ellzey.
