The Zwolle Loggers and Forestry Festival is pleased to announce that Dewitt Sepulvado has been named the oldest logger for 2024.

Sepulvado began cutting logs in 1958 for Hunt Lumber Co., and over the years he has worked for Haslam Lumber Company, Sabine Lumber Company, Boise Cascade, and Willamette, where he retired at the age of 62. He worked six days a week regardless of weather conditions. Luckily, throughout his career, he never had an accident while using his power saw. Since his retirement, he enjoys fishing, farming, and going to the casino.

He was born on February 20, 1936 to John and Josie Sepulvado and is one of 12 children. He has been married to Mary Jane Garcie for 66 years. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Pam Cartinez and Jamie Sepulvado. They also have four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Dewitt is also a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he is a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is honored to be this year’s oldest logger, and wishes to invite everyone to attend the festival on April 19-20.
