Fort Jesup State Park now has antique bricks found on private property, but are remnants of the 1821 Fort compound. These are not just plain bricks; they have an original painting of either the present Fort building or the outdoor kitchen. They are $50 each and the money goes to benefit the Fort, sold by the Friends of Fort Jesup.

The bricks were hand-painted in oil by Olivia McNeely Pass, a native of Many who now lives in St. Francisville, Louisiana. Pass received a minor in art from Northwestern State University and studied oil painting under Ione Parsons when she lived in Many during the seventies. Retirement and the Covid lockdown have allowed her to paint full time now. During the past four years she has won ribbons and received entrance into juried national and local shows. Pass had her own one-woman show at Backwoods Gallery in St. Francisville last March. Mary Beth Tarver engaged Pass to paint these bricks to benefit Ft. Jesup State Park.

People can go by the Fort on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. to see these bricks and purchase them.
