The Many Tigers defeated the Richwood Rams 21-0 on November 18 during the regional round of the playoffs.
Although Many has looked the dominant team for most of the season, this game brought about a number of struggles following their firstround bye.
Things started well for the Tigers when on the second play of the game, Jeremiah James put out a 52-yard run to bring the score to 7-0.
Early on, it became apparent that the Rams were there to play a game. Their quarterback mis-threw one pass, but on third and 11 they got a huge gain when Garet Culverson missed a tackle. Thankfully, Tackett Curtis was there for the assist. Richwood was to make one more big gain.
During the next Richwood possession, it was Kedrick Gosey with fantastic coverage to bring the opposing team to a third and 10.
Richwood forced a punt on the next Tiger possession despite a holding penalty negating a big gain. However, on the punt, Trent Williams snuck in to down the ball on the one yard line, giving the Rams horrible position. However, a late hit called against the Tigers saw them getting a little breathing room.
It took until the third quarter for the Tigers to score again, but it was a beauty. Curtis ran for 46 yards with 3:52 left in the quarter to put the score up to 14-0. Curtis was to score once more with roughly five minutes left in the game to bring about the final score of 21-0.
This week, the Tigers will travel to meet ninthseed Rosepine for the quarterfinals.
