Sharon Crittenden (Nanny) born February 18, 1950, to parents Norbert and Gladys Nichting in Cincinnati Ohio.
On November 2, 2024, God gained a very special lady. Sharon Crittenden was a mother, a sister, a mother-in-law, an aunt, a grandmother, and a great grandmother, however to us she was Nanny. Nanny loved to ride her horses, crochet, and paint/draw. She loved spending time with her family. She wasn’t just our Nanny, she was our best friend and confidant. Her smile would light up the room. She was beautiful both inside and out. Nanny always took care of us no matter what, she was always there, even though the great grandbabies liked to step on her toes sometimes. Nanny created a legacy in which we all will continue sharing which is kindness, love, and gratitude. Even though she only weighed 80lbs, she was filled with nothing but love. She would always hug your neck and kiss you on the cheek. She will forever be missed, and I hope she knows that we are all going to be ok because the one thing she taught us is family takes care of family forever and always.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Norbert and Gladys Nichting of Ohio, Steve Nichting of Ohio, and Kenny Nichting of Mass. She leaves behind her significant other Thomas Headd Jr. Four children; daughter Sheri Balford of Many, daughter Pam Balford Goodman and husband Raymond Goodman of Many, son James Balford of Many, and son Nicholas Balford of Bowling Green, KY. Sharon had twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandbabies along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Lewing II officiating. Burial will follow in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, Many, LA.
Pallbearers: Mikkie Matthews, Ben Matthews, Aaron Goodman, Sean Goodman, William Merrell, Jacob Merrell, and Justin Matthews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tyson Britt and Raymond Goodman.
