Graveside funeral services for Joyce Brandon were held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Zwolle cemetery with Bro. Jerry Penfield officiating.
Joyce was born in Post, Texas on August 11, 1924 and passed away December 22, 2020.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Zwolle. She had a passion for Bible Study and did so daily. She was a homemaker and an avid quilter.
Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Frances Buvens, husband Victor Brandon; parents, Jesse and Katie Clary; sister, Gayle Woods; brothers, J. R. Doyle and Ansel Clary; brother-in-law, Dave Milligan; and son-in-law; Richard Basham.
Survivors include her brother, Olie Clary (Barbara), sister, Rosemary Milligan; son, Doug Brandon (Paula); daughter, Carolyn Basham; grandchildren, Brian Brandon (Diana); Luke Brandon (Jana); Jesse Brandon (Amanda); Lindsay Corley (Adam); and JoAnna Williams; great-grandchildren, Matthew; Addison; Lucas; Brody; Leanna; Bryce; Katie; Jakey; and Blake.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to her loving caretaker Joan Menard.
Pallbearers were Brian Brandon, Luke Brandon, Jesse Brandon, Buddy Brandon, Danny Cedars and Bobby Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers were Lucas Brandon and Matthew Brandon.
Due to Covid restrictions the family will not have a church service, however, please know that the church to Joyce was not a building but a congregation joined together to worship God. It was where she most wanted to be.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Zwolle, LA. or a charity of your choice.
