Funeral services for Cassidy Price, 29, of Many were held on Monday October 5, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Many with Rev. Cyle Clayton officiating. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery.
Cassidy was born on Monday, December 3, 1990 in Natchitoches. She passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Sabine Medical Center in Many.
As a child, Cassidy was active in 4H and FFA where she won numerous awards at the Parish and State level with her animals. Cassidy was in an auto accident at the age of 16 which left her paralyzed from the neck down. However, she worked hard during rehabilitation and managed to not only graduate from Many High School on time but, was able to stand to accept her diploma, enrolled in Northwestern State University and graduated with a major in History and a minor in Political Science. She successfully completed the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) and actively served on the Louisiana Rehabilitation Commission. Cassidy was a renowned owner/breeder of Bichon Frise’ at Brookelynn Bichon. Additionally, she was the business manager for the family business: Hobo’s Hut Sno Balls. Cassidy courageously battled against the odds (and numerous setbacks) from the time of her accident until her death with her mother by her side each step of the way.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Kaitlin Byles; grandmother, Judy Byles; father, Jonas Byles; uncle, Malcolm Byles; and her cousin, Hunter Byles. She is survived by her mother, Kathy Scaife Byles of Many; step-father, Jeff Price of Many; maternal grandparents, Doyle “Popcorn” and Evelyn Scaife of Many; paternal grandfather, Clauriste Byles, Sr. of Many; step-paternal grandfather, Bob Price of Alaska; aunt, Shari Scaife of Dallas, Texas; aunt, Bridget Schelde of Dallas, Texas; aunt, Sherry Prichard of Alaska; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Shawn Boudreaux, Bob Geoghagan, Virgil Jackson, Clauriste Byles, Jr., Caleb Burkett, Caleb Strange, Daniel Jordan and David Jordan.
