Mary Lewis was born November 5, 1944 in Port Arthur, Texas to Eldon Shoebroek and Orie (Moore) Shoebroek and entered into rest on April 23, 2020 in Natchitoches. Graveside services for her were held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Marthaville Cemetery with Brother John Lewing officiating. She has been an Eastern Star Member for 57 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Shoebroek; son, Eldon Dwayne Lewis; her brother, Issac Henry Shoebroek. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, Willie James Lewis of Robeline; children, Kevin Wayne Lewis; Karen Ann Mitchell and husband, Willie; Brenda Kaye Wade and husband, Craig; brother, Quinnion Shoebroek and wife, Betty. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren, James David Wade; Richard Wayne Lewis; Sarah Grantham and husband, Jonathan; Christopher Lewis and wife, Alicia; Nickolas Lewis and wife, Ashley; Jonathan Lewis and wife, Adna; Breyannie Zentz and husband, Austin; Ann Marie and wife, Ellen Wade; Henry Lewis; Austin; Miranda; Brandi and fiancé, Peyton. Her great grandchildren left to mourn her include Noah, Ellie, Layton, Landon, Bryson, Jonah, Elena, Jane, Wesley, Brooklyn, Conner, and Everett along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Mary also has some special relatives that include Eloise Marshall and family, Nancy Gibson and family. She had a niece, Sharon George and nephew, Isaac “Jr.” Shoebroek that will also mourn her passing.

Honoring her as pallbearers were Willie Mitchell, Jono Grantham, Richard Lewis, Nick Lewis, Craig Wade, and Peyton Carter. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Christopher Lewis, Jonathan Lewis, James Wade, and Noah Grantham.

Mary’s family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice of Natchitoches, especially Jena Brazil for the great care they gave her during her illness.
