Funeral services honoring the life of C.B. Leatherwood, Jr. were held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Midway Baptist Church in Converse. Officiating the service was Bro. William Hassan and Rev. Lee McClintock. Interment followed at Sardis Cemetery.

C.B. was born on March 10, 1940 in Converse to C.B. and Sylvia Leatherwood. He entered into rest on March 1, 2020 in Converse.

C.B. was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and tending to his livestock. He loved to cook and feed people. He wasn’t satisfied until all were stuffed full. C.B. loved his Lord and was a faithful member of Midway Baptist Church. Many are known as “A man of few words”- C.B. was known as “A man of MANY words”. He never met a stranger and was always quick to share a story with anyone he encountered. His family, especially his grandchildren, was the pride of his life. His happiest times were when the kids were with their “Pop.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.B. and Sylvia Leatherwood; brother, Raleigh Leatherwood; maternal grandparents, Otto and Willie Craig who raised him; and his paternal grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Leatherwood; son, Donny Leatherwood and wife Debbie of Benton; daughters, Beverly Leatherwood and husband Bradley Rumbaugh of Portland, Oregon; Venita Williams and husband Mark of Batesville, Indiana; sisters, Tina Nolen and husband Bob, Cathie Slimp and husband Mike; ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and his dear aunt, Louvie Richardson.

Honoring C.B. as pallbearers were his grandsons Josh Leatherwood, C.B. Leatherwood III (Breech), Seth Bullock, Spencer Bullock and special friends, Stanley Lofton, Eric Guillot and Tyler Patout.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Andy Finnegan, Floyd Ford, Sheriff Ronny Richardson and Brose Hayes.
