Funeral services for Sheldon Wiley Havard, 79, of Many, were held April 18 at Pendleton Assembly of God with the Reverends Daniel Davis and Danny Slack officiating. Burial followed in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery.
He was born on Wednesday, October 4, 1939 in Castor, and passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Oden Havard and Leola Bernice Smith Havard; wife, Patsy Woodle Havard; and brother, Marvin Oden Havard.
He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Havard Gribbin of Many and special friend, Scott McCroskey; grandchildren, Sheldon Lance Gribbin and wife Bailey of Many and Patten Gribbin Pearson and husband Skylar of Shreveport; great grandson, Hayes Layne Gribbin of Many; sisters, Emily K. Beason of Castor, Bernice H. Waites of Ringgold and Debra H. Caldwell of Coushatta; brothers, Huey P. Havard of Castor, Julius K. Havard of Castor and Daniel W. Havard of Mansfield; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Lance Gribbin, Skylar Pearson, Mike Havard, Doug Havard, Tony Havard, Jeff Havard, Josh Havard, Jacob Havard and Mark Beason.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Jack Corley, Van Tate, Lavan Merritt, Justin Merritt, Glen Battaglia, Gerald Knippers, Willie Jack Corley Jr., Daniel Sepulvado, Cotton Nelson, Jim Hammond and Mike Travis.
