Funeral services for SMSGT (Ret.) Bobby Echols Wilbanks, 89, of Florien were held March 26 at First Baptist Church of Florien with Dennis Pitt, the Rev. Brady Glaser and Bobby Slaydon officiating. Burial followed in the Florien Cemetery. He was born on Friday, October 4, 1929 in Trinity, Alabama, and passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at his residence in Florien.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelby and Ola Mae Heathcoat Wilbanks; first wife, Charlene Jackson Wilbanks; and one sister and five brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Wilbanks of Florien; daughters, Susan Wilbanks of Alexandria, Donna Wilbanks Chelette of Alexandria, Kim Anthony DeLatin of Many, and Karen Anthony Slaydon of Florien; son, Mark Wilbanks of Texas; grandchildren, Stormy Wilbanks Whitley of Dallas, Texas, Brandon Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia, Wendy DeLatin Davis of Dallas, Texas, Stacy DeLatin Kennedy of Many, Logan Slaydon of Houston, Texas, Jacob McComic of Many, and Nick Slaydon of Florien; seven great grandchildren; all Jackson in-laws; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Mike Pitt, Jacob McComic, Logan Slaydon, Ben Kennedy, Brandon Anderson and Josh Sandel.
