The weekend of December 1-2 provided the “Reason for the Season” and the USSSA Winter Nationals XIV brought the participants to battle for championships, however it was the TOYS for TOTS program that was the big winner.
Some 67 teams converged over the weekend at the Youngsville Sports Complex and the Broussard Sports Complex, and it was these participants who supplied in excess of 2000 toys for the Marine Corps’ TOYS for TOTS.
Marine Corps League State Commandant, Ronnie Broussard, commented “we want to thank Louisiana USSSA for their support by including Toys for Tots in this outstanding event. The efforts of this event made a lot of children happy on Christmas morning. The amount of toys collected was unbelievable. Louisiana USSSA has stepped in as a valuable partner to Toys for Tots, and its mission to provide a Christmas for all needy children.”
