Lloyd Charles Saunders was born October 30, 1950 in Shreveport to Beatrice Meshell of Zwolle and O.J. Saunders of Leesville and he entered into rest on December 6, 2018.

Mr. Saunders was a merchant marine who took great pride in his job. He loved music and this passion for music was a key motivator to help him learn how to play the drums. He taught himself how to be a drummer by practicing on oatmeal boxes. Once he mastered the song “Wipe Out,” he was extremely proud of himself. Lloyd enjoyed life and was loved by many family and friends.

Preceding Lloyd in death were his parents; his son, Jason Saunders; brother, Bo Linkous; and grandmother, Ms. Mary Meshell who raised him as if he were her own child.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his longtime companion, Anise Tolson of Logansport; son, Todd Saunders and wife, Kara, of Dallas, Texas; son, Mark Totten and wife, Marie, of Baytown, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Ballard and husband, Shane, of Logansport; sister, Lana Johnson of Oakdale; grandchildren, Kayla and Angelica Contreras, Breann and spouse, Peyton Garcia, Justin and Addison Ballard, Austin and Sophia Saunders, Braden, Peyton, and Hailey Whitehouse, Joshua and Dakota Saunders, Brandon Taylor, Cheyenne and Dakoda Totten; and numerous other family members.
