A gathering of family and friends for Bobbye Horn Gooch, 83, of Moss Bluff will be held Saturday, February 10 at 1 p.m. at the Belmont Fellowship Hall. Graveside services will follow at the Belmont Cemetery with Bro. Glynn Howard officiating. Bobbye graduated in 1952 from Belmont High School. She was a member of the girl’s basketball team; playing and winning many ball games. She worked for many years at the old Fraser Hospital and later at the Many pharmacy with Paul and John Gewin. She passed away December 17, 2017 at her home in Moss Bluff after a long illness in the care and watchful eye of her loving son, Dennis Mitchell formally of Many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gooch; parents, Clifton and Malva Carter Horn; son Chris Mitchell; daughter, Diane Serrett; sisters, Merlene Horn, Lynn Horn Oxley, and Janice Horn Westfall; and brothers, Gene Horn and Richard Horn. She is survived by her son, Dennis Mitchell of Moss Bluff; daughter, Angie Mitchell Bertrand and husband, Mike, of Franklin, Texas; sisters, Bettye Horn Westfall and husband, Murl, Florien, Sue Horn McNeely and husband, Clyde, of Shreveport, and Joy Horn Walker and husband, Benny, of Milam, Texas; brothers, Jack Horn and wife, Catherine, of Blanchard and Roy “Teti” Horn and wife, Donna, of Florien; 12 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
