Colonel Frank Priest, Jr., 84, of Hemphill, Texas passed away Saturday, December 17, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1933 in New Orleans to Frank Priest, Sr. and Alyene Stockstill Priest. He moved to Mississippi in his early childhood. He graduated from University of Mississippi “Ole Miss” as a pharmacist. Colonel Priest was a true Patriot. He proudly served in the Navy before serving in the United States Army as a pilot and worked as a nuclear pharmacist. He retired as a full Colonel. He loved his country and was honored to serve it. After retiring from the U. S. Army, Colonel Priest worked in various states as well as Sabine County as a pharmacist. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a true fan to the Ole Miss football team. Colonel Priest is survived by his wife, Nettie Katherine Arthur of Hemphill, Texas; daughter, Stacy Turney and husband, Clay of Joplin, Missouri; two grandchildren; sisters, Kay Wilkinson of Ellisville of Mississippi and Joy Bonds of Baton Rouge; a special brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Linda Rains; and a host of nieces and nephews. His monument is at Ft. Jessup Cemetery and his wishes were to be cremated and no funeral services. Cremation arrangement handled by Starr Funeral Home, Hemphill, Texas.
