A memorial service for Jerrel Wayne Norsworthy was held December 4 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bros. Lee Dickson and Buster Jordan officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Mt. Carmel. Wayne was born September 24, 1936, and entered eternal rest November 29, 2017, with his family by his side. He was the son of Gladys Marie Horn Norsworthy and George Curtis Norsworthy. He retired as superintendent of the Natchitoches Utility Power Plant after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elda Faye VanVeckhovan Norsworthy of Coushatta; daughters, Anita Foster and husband, Joseph, of Daphne, Alabama, and Judy Sanders of Coushatta; sister, Jerry Ann Norsworthy Gregory and husband, Kenneth. He was blessed with many grandchildren, Alisha Foster Senecal and husband, Jeff, of South Lyons, Michigan, Joseph P. Foster of Oceanside, California, Derek A. Sanders and wife, Elizabeth, of St. Leonard, Maryland, Colleen Nicole Sanders and boyfriend, Jerry Torres, of Houston, Texas, Brandon Foster of Daphne, Alabama, Courtney Nicole Foster Manning of Daphne, Alabama, and Travis Curtis Sanders and fiancée, Alyana of Castor; as well as great-great-grandchildren, Ethan Senecal, Raven Sanders and Jaxson Senecal.
