Elsie Strahan Mains, 86, of Many passed away Wednesday, November 15 2017, at her residence. She was born February 2, 1931 in Belmont, and was a lifelong resident of Sabine Parish. Funeral services were held November 19 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home. The Reverends Frank McComas and Stephen Sanger officiated. Burial followed at Mt. Freedom Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Orene Lacy Strahan; husband Elzie Mains; infant son, Timothy Mains; daughter Martha Cain; sister, Shirley Sattler; and three brothers, Tommie L., Clarence, and Charles Strahan. She is survived by her son, Walter Mains and wife, Sharon, of Many; grandchildren, Timothy Cain of Homer, Jennifer Sanger and husband, Stephen, of Hershey, Pennsylvania, David Mains and wife, Stephanie, of Many, and Tiffanie Cain Wells of Many; great-grandchildren, Emily Wells, Madison Cain, Lauryn-Ashley Cain, Katie Grace Wells, Patrick Sanger, William Mains, and Chloe Mains; sister, Della Randolph, of Shreveport; sisters-in-law, Theresia Strahan of Belmont and Verda Mains Carroll of Long Beach, California; and special niece, Delores Geoghagan. Pallbearers were David James, Charles Mains, Charles Coker, James Randolph, Douglas Randolph, and Robert Dale Geoghagan. The honorary pallbearer was Bob Geoghagan. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Jack Corley and her caregivers Lavronda Williams, Catonia Smith, Denise Laroux, Ola Hudson, Dorothy Sweet, and Emma Wysinger for their unfailing kindness and consideration during her illness.
