Graveside services for James W. King, 81, of Tomball, Texas were held November 3 at Central Cemetery with the Rev. Craig Kennedy officiating. He was born Sunday, May 31, 1936, and passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Tomball, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cass King Jr.; sister, Virginia Freeman; and great grandchild, Blakely Lenae. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Salter King of Tomball, Texas; daughters, Faithe Laney of Tomball, Texas and Hope Williams and husband, Scott, of Tomball, Texas; son, James W. King Jr. and wife, Alison of Tomball, Texas; sisters, Doris Hight of Memphis, Tennessee, Shirley Brown of Shreveport, Patsy Atkins of Shreveport and Barbara Wallace of Shreveport; brothers, Jerry King of Shreveport and Carl King of Shreveport; grandchildren, Daniel Laney and wife, Dr. Katie Laney, of Mesquite, Texas, Grace Laney of Tomball, Texas, Amanda Williams of Tomball, Texas, Tiffiny Gist and husband, Dr. Taylor, Gist of Houston, Texas, Angela King of Arlington, Virginia, and Andrew King of Tomball, Texas; great grandchildren, Camile Gist of Houston, Texas, Vivian Gist of Houston, Texas, and Jacqueline Gist of Houston, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
