Alta Yvonne Cryer was born in Many on June 1, 1947 and entered her heavenly home on September 16, 2017 in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis J. Cryer and Isler Ayers Cryer; infant brother, Louis Gordon Cryer; and sister, Dollie D. Batson. She is survived by her brother, Larry A. Cryer and wife, Mary, of Jonesboro; beloved nephew, Jeffrey Cryer and wife, Emily; children, Zachary and Landry of Benton; beloved niece, Amanda Jenkins and husband, Josh, and children, Andrew and Brooklyn all of Robeline; nieces, Sue, Kathy, Pam and Lisa; and nephews, Phillip Wayne, David and Dale. Yvonne had a tremendous love for her Lord and Savior, and it was her heart’s desire to spread the good news to all – especially to Andrew, Brook, Zachary and Landry. She had such admiration and love for her brother, Larry, and told him so, often with expressions through many poems that she wrote and sent for birthdays and special occasions. She had a beautiful voice and loved sharing her gift at churches, nursing homes, and special events. She was an educator, teaching in both Sabine and Caddo Parishes. She retired with many years of service. One of her favorite scriptures is found in Proverbs 3:5-6 –Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight. Funeral services were held September 18 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverends Jerry Penfield and Tony Nations officiating. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery. Pallbearers were Josh Jenkins, Barry Goss, Travis Wilson, David Wilson, Kyle Penfield, and Dennis Hubbard.
