Funeral services for Argus Moore, 86, of Many, were held September 19 at Lakeside Baptist Church with the Reverends Bill Craft and Kenneth Leach, Sr. officiating.Burial followed in the Lakeside Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born Wednesday, March 11, 1931 in Sabine Parish and passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his residence in Many. Argus was a wonderful husband, Daddy, Poppa, brother and friend. He never met a stranger and always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He was a deacon, song leader, and member of Lakeside Baptist Church. His love for Christ was evident in everything he did. He worked for Bell South for 33 years before retirement. He made many lifelong friends and shared many laughs throughout his career. To know him was to love him and he will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Moore and Johnnie English Moore; four sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Daphine Moore of Many; son, Randy Moore and wife, Linda, of Many; daughters, Lynn Williams and husband, Rusty, of Mansfield, Suzanne Tarpley and husband, Bruce, of Many, Christi Bowling and husband, Tracy, of Many, and Lori Britt and husband, Jody, of Many; sisters, Eloise Stephens of Grand Cane and Tommye Byford of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Trey Williams, Cory Bowling, Blake Bowling, Adam Bowling, Wade Moore, Patrick Moore, and Caleb Britt. Honorary pallbearers were Alisha Crowder, Amy Crooks and Emily Britt. We would like to take this time to thank the caregivers who took such great care of our husband and father. Joy Beason, Dean Nelson, Marilyn McCormic, Dede McFarland, Dantina Speight and Lynda Brown.
