A celebration of the life of Deborah “Deb” Kay Byrd, 59, of Florien was held June 19 in the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many. The Rev. Daniel Lowe officiated with burial to fol-low in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.Following a brave battle with cancer, Deb went home to her Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at her home in Florien, surrounded by her much beloved family, along with her “furry child,” Baby. She was born on October 16, 1957 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Jack W. Ingram, Sr. and Mildred Malzahn Ingram. She was one of three children, along with brothers, Jack W. Ingram, Jr. and Richard In-gram. The family settled in Odessa, Texas where she met her future hus-band, Benny “Red” Byrd, of Florien in 1972. The couple married October 16, 1973 and moved to Florien in 1988.Deb and Red are the proud parents of son, Jeremiah, and were al-ways seen at his Many High School football games, cheering him on. They are also the very proud grandparents to Hannah and Jacob and were of-ten heard relating stories about their grandkids’ latest accomplishments. Deb and Red had a long and loving relationship as best friends, spouses, working partners and creative artists. Their friends and family noted, “if you saw one, you saw the other.” The couple is well known in Sabine Parish and throughout Louisiana as premier stained glass artists. Deb was a member of the New Orleans Council of Arts and the Louisiana Craft Guild. She and Red traveled throughout the state promoting their handcrafted, one of kind stained glass products and their original stained glass windows adorn many churches throughout Louisiana. The couple loved spending time at home with friends and family and worked together to create a country home place complete with Deb’s fa-vorite flowers, banana trees and a large variety of southern trees. The couple often gathered to visit with friends on their large front porch and entertained on their enclosed back porch overlooking the large, lush back yard. Deb and Red always welcomed you to their home with open arms and usually sent you home with goodies from their garden or artwork. Deb was a loving person with an easy smile and twinkle in her eyes; she was the type of friend eager to lend a helping hand to friends and family.
