Funeral services honoring the life of Bernard “Morton” Lewis, 63, were held June 1 at Blue Ridge Methodist Church in Pleasant Hill with the Reverends David Hill and Charlotte Birdwell officiating. Burial followed at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican. Morton was born on November 23, 1953 to William Lewis Sr. and Mary Louise Eddie and entered into rest on May 30, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lewis Sr. and Mary Louise Eddie; brother, W.B. “Benny” Lewis, Jr.; and grandson, Justin Brevelle. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Beatrice Miller Lewis; son, William Benjamin Lewis and wife, Angela; daughter, Jennifer Rivers and husband, Allen Eaves; step-daughter, Devon Maturin and husband, Dustin; sister, Sandra Raines; brothers, Robert “Bobby” Lewis, Stephen Lewis, and John Lewis; grandchildren, Alexis Brevelle, Gavin Brevelle, Tyler Eaves, Destynee Maturin, Jonah Eaves, Shelton Eaves, Vaeda Randall, Joshua Randall, Peyton Eaves, and Kyle Eaves; great-grandchildren, Braesen Baca, Charlie Baca, Addie Eaves, and Wesly Eaves. Pallbearers were William Lewis, Jimmy Self, Blayne Spilker, Jashua Randall, T.J. Duval, Joseph Free, and Tyler Twyman.
