Funeral services for Hardy Gene Parker, 51, of Florien, were held November 17 at Pisgah Baptist Church, Toro Community, with the Rev. Wilton Anthony officiating. Burial followed in the Pisgah Cemetery. Hardy Gene Parker was born on Friday, December 18, 1964 in Leesville. He passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at his residence in Florien. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Brooke Whitney Parker; father, Jeanie Ray Parker; maternal grandparents, Fred and Elsie Dew; paternal grandparents, Fred Parker and Gladys Hilton Parker; and his grandparents, Andy and Ruth Ferkovich. Hardy graduated from Hornbeck High School in 1984. He then moved to Dallas, Texas and became a heavy-duty truck mechanic. Hardy enjoyed working out, lifting weights, running and riding his bike but he enjoyed spending time with his children more than anything. They were his life. He is survived by his daughters, Courtney Parker of Frisco, Texas and Grace Parker of McKinney, Texas; sons, Tristan Parker of McKinney, Texas and Colt Weiner of McKinney, Texas; parents, Lee and Linda Ferkovich of Florien; sisters, Christiana Parker Crites and husband, Gary, of Wylie, Texas and Lenora Ferkovich Dixon of Florien; brothers, Donnie Parker and wife, Darla, of Hornbeck, Tony Parker and wife, Carla, of Florien, and Tracy Parker of Florien; best friend, Danny Manes and wife, Sherri, of Hornbeck; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
