Funeral services for Jonnie Viola Branam, 72, of Shreveport, were held on October 16 at Little Flock Baptist Church with the Rev. Ottis Branam officiating. Burial followed in the Little Flock Cemetery. Jonnie was born on Saturday, September 16, 1944 in Sabine Parish. She passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Willis Knighton Pierremont–Lifecare in Shreveport. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virginia Heard; brother, James Heard; sister, Willie Ethel Elvey; and grandson, Jonathan Branam. She is survived by her husband, Levoie Branam of Shreveport; daughter, Laura Branam of Shreveport; son, Wayne Branam and wife, DeWanna, of Bossier City; sisters, Bonnie Burk of Shreveport, Lucy Grant of Gilmer, Texas, Elizabeth Cantrell of Shreveport, and Linda Watts of Shreveport; granddaughters, Jessica Ormes and husband, Dale, of Bossier City, Mollie McCabe of Shreveport, Makenzie McCabe of Shreveport, and Madalynn Branam of Bossier City; grandson, Logan Branam of Bossier City; great granddaughter, Destinee Ormes of Hallsville, Texas; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Tommy Burk, Logan Branam, Mark McCabe, Dale Ormes, Andrew Wilson, and Alan Heard. Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Burk and Charles Burk.
