Funeral services honoring the life of Carey “Cooter” Laffitte, 55, where held September 15 at Pelican United Methodist Church in Pelican with Bro. Jerry Wood officiating. Burial followed at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican. Cooter was born on May 1, 1961 in Shreveport to Marshall and Carrie Richey Laffitte and passed away on September 12, 2016 in Mansfield. Preceding Cooter in death were his father, Marshall “Mack” Laffitte and brother, James “Jamie” Laffitte. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Carrie Laffitte; wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Laffitte; son, Rickey Laffitte; daughters, Amanda Henry, and Angel Thompson and husband, Steven; step-daughter, Chrissy Henderson and husband, Daniel; grandsons, Nathan Henderson, Austin Henderson, Zach Henderson, Lane Thompson; sisters, Ester Ebarb, Dovie Averitt; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Those honoring the life of Cooter as pallbearers were Nathan Henderson, Perry Dease, Henry Touchton, David Brevelle, Donnie Averitt Jr, and Jeremy Phillips. Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Henderson Jr. Steven Thompson, Kevin Phillips, Christian Brown, Mikey McCammond, Chester Burns Jr, Thomas Litton, Anthony Blankenship, Buck Rush, and Jerry Marr.
