Funeral services honoring the life of Mary Lynn Bush Lester Kelly, 79, were held July 29 at First Baptist Church of Fort Jesup, with the Reverends Jerry Penfield and Merlin Liverman officiating. Burial followed in the Fort Jesup Cemetery. Mary Lynn was born April 29, 1937 in Shreveport, and died on July 26, 2016 in Baton Rouge after fighting two valiant battles against breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Allene Bush; brother, Eugene Bush; her first husband Bill Lester; her second husband Dallas Kelly and her stepson Stuart Kelly. Mary Lynn is survived by her brothers, Buddy Bush, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jimmy Earl Bush, and wife, Joan, of Many; sister, Judy Henderson, and husband, Rocky, of Houma; children, Carolyn Sandel, and husband, Tommy, of Florien, James Lester of Temple, Texas, Wade Lester, and wife, Melicent, of Baton Rouge, Myles Kelly of Many and Jamie Kelly of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Her family remembers her as a devoted caretaker and a dedicated friend, and is thankful for her Baton Rouge Parkview Baptist Church family.
