Funeral Services for Thurman Stewart, 69, of Florien, were held June 27 at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. John Lewing and Wayne Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Thurman Stewart was born on Monday, January 20, 1947 in Many. He passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hardy Devain and Doris Stewart; sister, Lynette Kay and brothers, Kelsie Chance and Hardy Dean Stewart. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Stewart of Florien; daughter, Lisa Carroll and husband, Michael, of Florien; special son, Dan Bennett and wife, Ashley, of Florien; special aunt, Betty McComic of Florien; grandsons, Harley Bennett and Justin Carroll of Florien; granddaughters, Adrienne Carroll, Victoria Carroll and Bailey Jessup of Florien along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Greg Williams, Bo Stewart, Doyle Barron, Richard Rushing, Ray McComic and Kevin Herrington. Honorary Pallbearers were Bubba Stewart, Willie Stewart, Ricky Stewart, Chris Rubar, Shannon Stewart, Steven Stewart and Josh Stewart Potter. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.warrenmeadows.com
