Funeral services for Nira Marion Lewing, 82, of Many, were held on April 1 at First Baptist Church of Florien with the Reverends Wilton Anthony and Wayne Chance officiating. Burial followed in the Florien Cemetery. Nira Marion Lewing was born on Thursday, August 17, 1933 in Florien. She passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence in Many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen G. Lewing, Jr.; parents, A. G. Cook and Della Peterson Cook; great grandchildren, Clay Meshell and Ella Rivers; sister, Porcha Kennon and brother, Charles Cook. She is survived by her daughters, Glinda Lewing of Many, Linda Rogers and husband, Lee, of Zwolle and Cindy Wright and husband, Rex, of Many; son, Cory Lewing of Bossier City; sisters, Betty Delrie of Denham Springs and Elaine Fletcher of Baton Rouge; brother, Ronnie Cook and wife, Jennie, of Ferriday; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Brent Wright, Randy Sandel, Alan Colston, Waylon White, Chey Remedies, and Keith Meshell. Honorary pallbearers were Alfice Brumley, Jimmy Leach, James Lynn Davis, Gerald Lewing, Walter Lee, Jace Acklin, and Elliot Epperson.
