Funeral services for Doris Haire were held on Thursday, March 17 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. Officiating was the Rev. Charles Clark. Interment followed at Cassell Cemetery in Converse. Mrs. Haire was born on November 6, 1929, in Converse to William Melvin and Lily Pearl Bennett, who preceded her in death. She passed away on March 12, 2016, at Southern Hills Health Care in Shreveport. She graduated from Converse High School where she played softball and excelled as a pitcher. She enjoyed fishing, reading, and riding country roads. She loved going out to eat, especially for catfish. Mrs. Haire is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Haire; sister, Annie Ruth Bennett; son, Larry Clifford Golden; son-in-law, Lyndon Zacheis; granddaughter, Patsy Warschak, and greatgranddaughter, Keara Litton. She is survived by sons, Roger Wayne Golden and wife, Mary, of Magnolia Texas, Johnny Calvin Golden and wife, Sandra, of Shreveport; daughters, Bonnie Hunter of Frierson; Cindy Stoker of Mansfield, and Leslie Zachies of Bossier City. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Matthew Golden, Zack Golden, John Tedder Jr, Tony Johnson, Tyler Grand, and Osborn Turner. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at Southern Hills Health Care for their care and kindness to our mother.
