Phillip Anthony Gauthier passed away among friends and family after battling liver disease on December 29, 2015, in the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice Gauthier, and his eldest brother, Paul Gauthier. He is survived by his three brothers and all of his children, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Phillip had been a fixture of the Toledo Bend community since his family moved to the area in the late 1960s. He graduated from Negreet High School in 1969. The Marine Corps cut his time in college short, but allowed him to travel much of the country he loved so dearly. Most of his working life was spent building houses, including his own. Later, as an insurance adjuster, he was able to once more indulge is love of travel. His generosity and good humor will be missed by all who knew him. His wake will be held at Aimwell Baptist Church on February 9, 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by internment at 11 a.m. February 10 when he would have celebrated his 65th birthday. His cremated remains will be laid to rest with his family as he wished.
