Funeral services for Jimmie Don Weldon, 74, of Anacoco, were held November 12 at the Old Anacoco Baptist Church in Leesville with the Reverend Wayne Chance and John Lewing, II officiating. Burial followed in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Jimmie Don, the son of Ira D. and Iris Stewart Weldon, was born June 23, 1941 in Many. He passed away at his residence in Anacoco, Monday November 9. Jimmie Don loved to fish and hunt, however his passion is his family especially his grandchildren, “Oh how he loves his grandchildren”, and he would always make you laugh. He was preceded by his parents; son, Phillip Weldon and sister Sandra Kay Parker. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances Joann Weldon of Anacoco; daughters, Cheryl and husband, Jeff O’Neal, of Moss Bluff, Monette Slaughter of Hornbeck and Valarie and husband, Wade Bell, of Florien; grandchildren, Josh Slaughter, Kendra Isgitt, Brady Bell, Landon Bell, David O’Neal, Phillip O’Neal, Michael O’Neal and Timothy O’Neal and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
