Funeral services honoring the life of Dennis Ray Cates, 54, was held November 19, at Union Baptist Church in Florien with the Reverends Larry Bryant and John Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse. Dennis was born in Converse on October 6, 1961 to Charles and Martha Magee Cates and passed away in Shreveport on November 16, 2015. Preceding Dennis in death are his father, Charles Arlon Cates and stepfather, Richard Trimble. Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Tonia Hubbard Cates; mother, Martha Magee Cates Trimble; daughters, Teresa Cates Blackmon and husband, Casey, and Sharon Cates Boothe and husband, Brian; sister, Leah Trimble Bragg; brother, Charles Anthony Cates and wife, Kay; grandchildren, Ella Marie Boothe, Benjamin Cole Boothe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
