Services celebrating the life of Mr. Joseph Melvin Sepulvado, 87 of Noble were held on Aug. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle and was officiated by Father Tim Hurd. Interment followed the services at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Melvin was born on Sept. 22, 1927, and passed away on Aug. 24, 2015 at his daughter’s residence in Converse. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Mable Sepulvado; parents, Selena Garcie and Eli Sepulvado; step-dad Frank Garcie; infant son, Bobby Ray Sepulvado; brother, Joseph Murry Sepulvado and sister, Elaine Sepulvado. Melvin worked all his life in the timber business. He was nicknamed “Gillis” and “Doug” by his co-workers. He was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his son, Joseph T. Sepulvado and wife, Wilna, of Shreveport; daughter, Mary Sue Patrick and husband, Ralph, of Converse; grandchildren, Jody and wife, Donnese Sepulvado, Carla and husband, Dave Anderson and Jenna Patrick, all of Shreveport, and Chad Sepulvado and wife, Courtney, of Birmingham, Alabama and great grandchildren, Reed Sepulvado, Owen Sepulvado, Sasha Anderson, Nadia Anderson, all of Shreveport, and Eli Sepulvado of Birmingham, Alabama. In addition, Melvin, is survived by his half sister, Joanne Blackmon of Florien as well as a host of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request that any donations be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.warrenmeadows.com.
