    Funeral services for William Monroe Powell, 75, of Florien were held Aug. 19, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial followed in the Prospect Cemetery. William Monroe Powell was born on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1940 in Sabine Parish. He passed away on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at Many Health Care North in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.V. “Pete” and Grace Sandel Powell and special brother, Jerry Slaughter. He is survived by his wife Netha Lea Browning Powell of Florien; sons, Leonard Powell and wife, Lynn, of Hilliard, Ohio, Lambert Powell, Rowland Powell and Ronald Powell all of Florien; daughter, Rhonda Powell Dubose and husband, Gary, of Florien; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two special great grandchildren; sister, Adell Sills; brothers, Calton and Ezra Powell and his other brother, Butch Sandel. Pallbearers were Greg Anthony, Jerry Powell, Francis Powell, Jessie Ferguson and Anthony Sepulvado. Honorary Pallbearers were Danny Cook, David Cook, Butch Sandel, Edward Earl Neel, Tommy Corley and John Sandel. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.warrenmeadows.com
