Funeral services for Robert Dale Chandler were held Aug. 19 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Florien with Bro. Carl Scroggs and the Rev. John Lewing officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Robert Dale Chandler was born on Aug. 2, 1968 in Many to Bobby and Meriam Alford Chandler. He passed away in New Mexico on Aug. 13, 2015 at the age of 47. Dale was a 1986 graduate of Florien High School and earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree from University of New Mexico. He had such a kind soul that loved to help and give to others. This was demonstrated through out many facets of his life and of course with his family. He loved spending time with them and spoiling all of his nephews and nieces. He gave daily of himself to all those around him. He collected crosses and loved all his animals. Dale was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and served as the leader of Celebrate Recovery. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey and Katherine Alford, Obie and Annie Mae Chandler and great-aunt, Ellon Alford. He is survived by his mother, Pete Alford, of Mt. Carmel; father, Bobby Dean Chandler, of Florien; son, Camron Hollenshead of Raleigh, North Carolina; sisters, DeAnna Chance and husband, Tim, of Florien and Donna Ellzey and husband, Greg, of Florien; brother, Daron Chandler of Florien; nieces, Heather Ellzey of Cabot, Arkansas, Emma Key of Lake Charles, and Coley Chandler of Cabot, Arkansas; nephews, Casey Ellzey and wife, Crystal of Cabot, Arkansas, Dusty Chandler of Shreveport, Colton Ellzey of Florien, Carter Chandler of Shreveport and Peyton Chandler of Houma; great nephew, Isaac Brooks; great niece, Emmalyn Ellzey and extended family, Gerry and Jan Barnhill.
