Funeral Services for I.B. Malone, 90 were held Aug. 15 at the Friendship Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Daniel Lowe and Deacon Mike Sullivan officiating. Interment followed at the Friendship Church of the Nazarene cemetery. Mr. Malone was born on May 24, 1925, in Ball and passed away on Aug. 12, 2015 at Many Health Care North in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carrie Dryden Malone; first wife, Audrey Stewart Malone; second wife, Josephine Moore Malone and brother, Huey Malone. Mr. Malone was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Mr. Malone served the people of Many and surrounding areas as a self-employed plumber and electrician. He was a faithful member of the Friendship Church of the Nazarene, serving as a board member for many years. After his marriage to Mrs. Josephine, he also attended St. John’s Catholic Church of Many. After Mr. Malone became a resident of Many Health Care North, he quickly became a favorite of both staff members and residents. He was a kind, gentle man, who always had a smile and encouraging word for everyone. He is survived by his sister, Agnes Welch of Pineville; his late wife’s sons, Joe Creighton and wife, Corey, of Natchitoches, Ricky Moore and wife, Pamela, of Katy, Texas and Randy Moore and wife, Linda, of Carencro; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to Jimmy and Thelma Small, who were devoted caregivers to Mr. Malone throughout his senior years.
