    Funeral Services for Loyd Dean, 78, of Florien, were held on July 6 at Toro Baptist Church with the Reverends James Hickman and Douglas Downs officiating. Burial followed in the Toro Cemetery. Loyd Dean was born on Monday, Nov. 23, 1936 in Elbert, WV. He passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Many Health Care North in Many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sadie Lambert Dean; brothers, Harold Dean and Boyd Dean; sisters, Eillene Caudill, Kathleen Collins and Joyce Ross. He is survived by his wife, France Chance Dean of Florien; daughters, Shellie Dean of Florien and Ellen Downs and husband, Dennis, of Florien; grandsons, Daniel Downs and wife, Jammie, of Florien and Dougas Downs and wife, Brittany, of Florien, LA.; granddaughter, Deana Shelly and husband Ross of Florien; great grandchildren, Daylyn Shelly, Rylie Shelly, Cora Downs, Caylee Downs, Demi Downs, Dylan Downs and Drew Downs along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were Thomas Alford, Johnnie Corley, Charles Corley, Donnie Downs, DeVon Fletcher and Dustin Fletcher Honorary Pallbearers were Ezra Powell, Dennis Downs, Daniel Downs, Douglas Downs and Ross Shelly.
